International Mr. Leather (IML) is a premier event that captures the spirit of the leather community and fosters LGBTQ+ pride. In its 47th edition, held at the storied Congress Hotel in Chicago, leather enthusiasts gathered from across the globe to celebrate. This year's festivities shone brightly on Rene Hebert, Mr. Palm Springs Leather, who captivated audiences and earned the title of International Mr. Leather 2025. Following closely were the charming Zephyr Merkur from Mr. Eagle NYC as the First Runner Up and Michael Tikili from Mr. Pittsburgh Leather Fetish as the Second Runner Up. Rene Hebert: Mr. Palm Springs Leather


Crowned as the titleholder, Rene Hebert impressed both judges and the audience with his genuine presence and dedication to the leather scene. He plans to use his platform to promote initiatives that uplift LGBTQ+ youth, which remains a pressing concern. Studies indicate that LGBTQ+ youth are 120% more likely to experience homelessness compared to their heterosexual counterparts, making such efforts crucial.

Zephyr Merkur: The Trailblazing First Runner Up


Zephyr Merkur, representing Mr. Eagle NYC, captivated everyone with their impactful initiatives. Zephyr used the platform to address key issues, including mental health and inclusivity. Their advocacy work has helped raise awareness in the community, showcasing how resilience and empowerment can effect change.

Michael 'Taz' Tikili, representing Mr. Pittsburgh Leather Fetish, delivered a remarkable performance that resonated with many. His commitment to mental health awareness underscores the importance of support within the leather community—a vital message, especially considering that 1 in 10 LGBTQ+ individuals report struggling with mental health.

This years class raised money for Global Action for Trans Equality (GATE).
